I feel useless tonight

A confection that’s stale and might

Break a tooth if indulgence succumbed

Better to leave me alone
I feel horny tonight

Anxious and longing cause the moment is right

Driven from terrors of quieted rage

Trapped inside a locked cage
I was searching

I was searching for my soul

Cause I was sent here

I was sent to rock and roll
Someone save me tonight

There’s no reason, no wrongs and no rights

Just a sad lonely ghost

Trying to make the most
Someone save me tonight

I’m a little boy lost to the night

With no light source no one for a guide

Someone save me tonight
I was searching

I was searching for my soul

Cause I was sent here

I was sent to rock and roll
Someone save me tonight

It’s been awhile since I wrote about my music. Partly due to my Halloween film fest writing project, but also because I’m neck deep into the business/marketing side of music, a subject which I know little about. The past month and a half since I finished recording has been filled with emails about one aspect of the business or another: the artwork, the mastering, the licensing, etc. It’s been hectic and trying to coordinate everything so that I can make a before December release date has been challenging to say the least.

As of now, my top priority is the artwork. I’ve been working with a great graphic photo artist named Deyo Glines who is based out of California. After telling him about the cd and sending him the songs and lyrics, we’ve come up with some things that really go well with the music. I’m really excited how the artwork is accentuating the songs and the story they tell to the point where I don’t feel the need to put a photo of myself in there. I will somewhere but I’m really loving the photo story aspect.

As I wait for all the legalese to work itself out, I can at least show the most probably cover I’ll be going with. Hopefully, you’ll like it!

As things are progressing with the album, it’s becoming more and more apparent that branching out has been good for me. The quality of the music has been exponentially raised by bringing in Don, Drew, Dale, Starlyn, and Bill so the songs have so much more depth to them then I had thought possible.

Last night, we brought in one more contributor, Ilya Ignatov to play some lead guitar and it sounded fantastic! It really added another great layer to everyone else’s efforts and I’m really happy with what he played.

Now, we have a few more things to lay down before the mixing. If everything goes smoothly (which it has so far), we’ll have a fully mixed product by Sunday. YESSSS!!!!
